Educational game
CTRL – Community for Renewable Living is an educational video game developed as part of the CLIMA project that simulates the management of a sustainable city powered by renewable energy. Players plan urban growth by placing different types of infrastructure, creating energy communities, managing resources such as energy, sustainability, social cohesion, and the local economy, and facing events and dilemmas inspired by real-world challenges of the energy transition.
Through city-building and management mechanics, infrastructure maintenance, decision-making, and interactive minigames, players explore how energy communities work and how their decisions impact sustainable development. The objective is to maintain a balance between the city’s different resources and ensure long-term sustainability.
The game can be played directly in the browser or downloaded for different operating systems via the itch.io platform.

This project has been funded by AGAUR (Generalitat de Catalunya), with the support from the Department of Research and Universities, the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, and the Climate Fund of the Government of Catalonia, with reference 2023 CLIMA 00090.
